Newbattle Abbey College is seeking to appoint an General Catering Assistant to work in the College kitchen servicing a broad range of guests.
Reporting to the Catering Manager, the post-holder will play a key role in preparing food, cleaning and servicing the Colleges customers.
We are looking for a General Catering Assistant to join our team, delivering exceptional service to a diverse clientele including students, staff, corporate guests, and international language schools. In this versatile role, you will be expected to work on your own initiative, balancing food preparation, and front-of-house service with a commitment to excellence.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in hospitality, strong knowledge of food safety standards and record keeping. Above all, we are looking for a reliable individual with excellent communication skills who can maintain our high standards of customer care and operational efficiency within this fast- paced environment.

Conditions of Service
Post title: General Catering Assistant
Location: Newbattle Abbey College, Dalkeith, EH22 3LL
Term of Appointment: Part Time Permanent
Remuneration: The post is part-time (0.75 FTE, 25 hours per week), permanent, with a salary of £24,826 pro rota, alongside a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance.
Reporting to: Catering Manager
