Newbattle Abbey College is one of Scotland’s smallest colleges, but completing a course here can make a big positive impact on your future life chances. Whether your aim is academic progression, personal achievement, or to develop practical skills, a dynamic range of courses has been designed to suit.

Our Social Science course is offered at several levels to accommodate personal circumstances. At the associate student level, students aim to pass through to the second year of a degree course at Queen Margaret University. Other levels provide the groundwork for persons who wish more generally to progress on to further or higher education. Finally, a strand of our Social Sciences course is especially tailored for persons who have an interest in teaching, but who have few or no qualifications. To find out more, please explore the course descriptors in our prospectus:

As you may expect for a college that is situated among 125 acres of beautiful parkland and woods, we offer a practical course in Rural Skills. Students gain valuable work experience within the college’s estate and learn a wide range of skills from tree planting, to rural species identification, to landscaping and much more.

Continuing with our practical courses, Beekeeping for Beginners is a highly popular course, which is run periodically on demand. This course teaches the theory of beekeeping and provides valuable hands-on experience.

Whatever your interest or educational aims, NAC may be just right for you. Please look through our prospectus or online course descriptors under the ‘Courses’ menu to find out more.

We are currently recruiting for all courses, so if you have any questions or experience any difficulty applying online, please call us on 0131 663 1921 or email office@nac.ac.uk. A member of the team will be able to help.

* These courses are now full. If you would like to be added to a distribution list to be informed of course availability, please email studentadmin@nac.ac.uk

** This course is almost full. Any applications may be added to a waiting list and will be processed if a space becomes available.
